“I have worked with Terry Gist many times and each time he is an absolute professional. I work in the mortgage industry and I appreciate working with a realtor that takes the time to explain the complex process of buying a home to clients in detail. It takes a team to get clients to the closing table and Terry understands how imperative the experience is to every client. His expertise in real estate is vital for clients; as he negotiates typically the largest purchase of their lives. I would recommend Terry without hesitation, he is extremely proficient which is crucial in this industry.

How To Choose A Realtor

When buying or selling a home, it’s important to work with the Realtor who is best suited for your needs. Here’s a list of five things to look for when choosing one:

  1. Choose a Realtor who has experience buying and selling the type of home you are looking for. If you’re looking for a home in the country with septic, you want to work with a Realtor that has worked in that market segment. Whether you’re looking for a single family home, condo, townhome, real estate investment property or commercial property, make sure your real estate professional has the experience. It makes a difference.

Terry Gist has been representing buyers and sellers in the Aurora and Denver markets for more than 20 years. He has experience buying and selling townhomes, condos, single family homes, rural properties and commercial real estate properties.

  1. Commitment to Communication. There’s nothing more frustrating that having a showing of the home you are trying to sell and not hearing how it went from your Realtor. You also want to work with a Realtor who can explain all the intricacies of home buying and selling in an informed, easy-to-understand way. You want to work with a real estate professional who keeps you informed and up to date through every step of the homebuying and selling process.

“Because I have more than 20 years of experience working in the Aurora and Denver real estate markets, I have great relationships with many real estate professionals in the industry. I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in so many transactions. I know how to represent my buyers and sellers in negotiations and get the best deals for them. I keep my clients informed so they know exactly what the situation is, how we will approach it and what our goals are. I find out the needs of my clients and find a way to meet those needs and go above and beyond.”

  1. Yes, you want an Agent/Realtor who has experience and clients. But you never want to work with a Realtor that’s too busy for you! An experienced Realtor should be able to manage their schedule effectively. That means if the buyer can only view properties on certain days or times of the week, the agent should be able to work within that schedule.

“My husband and I went through Terry to sell our house in Westminster, Colorado and buy one In Powell, Wyoming . Terry was very good and patient with us . He was always supportive and there for us when times got intense, Thank you so much, Terry . Thanks for all you have done. “

                  Trudy W, Westminster

  1. Knowledge: Your agent/Realtor should understand contracts intimately and be able to explain all aspects of the contract to you. They should be adept at making schedules through the homebuying or selling process and helping you meet those dates and deadlines. They should be experienced at negotiations and watch out for your best interests.

“I am very upfront with costs and the process and make sure that all of my client’s questions and fears are answered as they come up or before. I don’t want my clients to experience any surprises. I want every transaction to be a smooth one.”

  1. Meet Them In Person: It’s important to meet with a potential agent or Realtor in person. Share what your real estate goals are. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Make sure they are listening to you. It’s your money and your home!

“This journey began when my 19-daughter told me she didn’t want to throw her money away on rent, she wanted to own; smart girl!

“There was a post on Terry Gist's Facebook page for a First-Time Home Buyers Seminar, but we had missed it by a few days. I messaged him asking when the next seminar was and he let me know he'd personally meet with my daughter and me, along with a lender; Priscilla Sandoval with Home Mortgage Alliance, before the next seminar. We met within the week and at a location that was convenient for us. Both Priscilla and Terry went over the process of home buying with my daughter and were very patient answering all her questions and mine.

“After my daughter had an approved loan amount the hunt began. Terry made himself available to show properties on our time and was very knowledgeable on the different property types we looked at. When my daughter finally found “the one” Terry was quick to get the place under contract, followed through on the inspection and kept us up to date on the progress along the way. He was even there for closing to ensure all was in order and closing went smoothly.

“If you are a first-time homebuyer, looking to sell your current home and buy a new one. I highly recommend Terry and his team at MB - Metroplex Realty Inc. Terry went above and beyond my expectations of a realtor to make my daughters buying experience a positive one and I am extremely grateful for all he has done. When it’s time to sell my current home, he’ll be the first realtor I call!!

“Thank you, Terry and Metro Brokers!”
